MUSEUM AND HERITAGE DAY

Traditionally, Heritage Day is when almost every South African would ‘pop a boerie on the braai’, but those who braved the crisp spring showers and cold wind to bring their boerie roll to FMM on 24 September were all treated to a peek at some of the vehicles that are normally housed in the museum’s storerooms. Cars including the 1938 Buick roadster, McLaren F1, Ferrari 599 GTO, Porsche Carrera GT, Brabus Mercedes-Benz and the Type 46 Bugatti were driven and displayed in the parade ring of the museum complex. Long standing friend of the museum and GSM stalwart Peanuts Fouche used the occasion to show off a few of his Darts, Flamingos and Mazda rotarys, which added to the day’s festivities. WH
