HERITAGE DAY RUN

To help celebrate Heritage Day on Wednesday 24 September, across the country there is a national ‘Drive It’ campaign and Cape Town is joining in the spirit of the occasion with an old car run and display. Pre-1979 vehicles are eligible to participate and they will convene at Rondebosch Common (finer details will be furnished closer to the time) at 09h30 to move off at 10h00. Veteran and vintage cars and motorcycles will lead the convoy followed by classic cars and motorcycles. The route will move from Rondebosch Common down Main Road to finish in The Castle. The organisers will ensure that the media notifies the public so that interested parties may view the procession of vehicles.

Entry into The Castle is free and together with the display of cars there will be
an indoor vintage/antique market, films, food stalls, live music, art, a kiddies play area and more. Run participants are invited to bring a ‘running board picnic’. Everyone attending the display is encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
