GSM FLAMINGO
THE HISTORY

The Flamingo - Attractively Styled
Van Niekerk, Meissner and De Witt created the attractively-styled Flamingo, which had the Dart's GRP body. Its split rear window was similar to the Corvette Sting Ray's. While the first Flamingo coupes were powered by the German Ford Taunus engine, the last ones used Cortina motors. The one V8 built still belongs to Bob van Niekerk. A high retail price and lack of marketing capital made sales disappointing. The company was taken over in 1964 by Bonuskor, who built a few more units. Approximately, only 150 Flamingos were ever built.
